Owned and run by the Ciacci family, Tenuta di Sesta is recognized as one of the historical estates in Montalcino. The Ciacci's rely on traditional ageing in big oak barrels and renewed vineyard management based on climatic changes and in favor of the territory to obtain wines that best express the territory of Montalcino. The Brunellos in particular are marked by exotic perfumes and rich complexities.

Young and fresh wine a strong character linked to the Montalcino territory: it originates from the union of two local varieties, Sangiovese and Colorino, which blend together giving at first the structure and then the intense color. After ageing in stainless steel vats, it shows a ruby red color, hints of red fruit on the nose and fresh and balanced flavor. A pleasant wine to drink every day because of its freshness and aroma. Even though it is so drinkable and very approachable on the palate, it maintains the typical strong characteristics of Montalcino wines.

In the late 1990s, the Bolfo family decided to breathe new life into the ruins of an old convent located in the charming countryside of Pievasciata, a picturesque village in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga (Siena).
Fattoria Il Muro has been owned by the Pancaro family for about 200 years and has always been dedicated to viticulture, thanks to the favorable environmental conditions. The presence of soils rich in galestro and the climate, characterized by strong temperature variations due to the proximity to the Alpe di Poti, create a micro-environment that enhances the organoleptic qualities and healthiness of the grapes. This allows for the adoption of environmentally friendly cultivation practices. The vineyards and olive groves extend mainly on hilly terrain that gently slopes towards the valley plain of the Castro stream.

The Pancaro family have known Stefano di Blasi privately for many years, well-known in the world of wine to be behind the helm of several vintages of Solaia and Tignanello from Antinori, and therefore also chose him as winemaker at this house's Chianti Riserva.

The Caccia al Piano tenuta, or wine estate, is set into the enchanting winegrowing environment of Bolgheri, where the perfect combination of Mediterranean climate and limestone-clay soils has created a terroir ideal for yielding world-class wines. The romantic Via Bolgherese, with its vineyards and olive groves, is the background for winemaker Franco Ziliani’s new adventure in creating wines that always leave their mark.

It is a careful and meticulous selection of the best grapes from the San Biagio vineyard, the most important cru of the Estate and among the most suitable in the entire Bolgheri territory. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, two vines that have found in this small paradise protected by the woods the ideal conditions to express character, structure, elegance and propensity for aging. This is the identity card of Caccia al Piano Bolgheri Superiore DOC, the new excellence created by the Ziliani family.

It expresses an uncommon intensity and depth on the nose, with notes of licorice, cinnamon, camphor and pepper open to clearly fruity, jammy and spiced hints.

PALATE
A Mediterranean hint then opens to a rich, fresh and very long tasting. Well balanced thanks to a tannic texture of rare definition, it closes with a very persistent finish that returns on slightly vanilla notes.

AGEING
The separate lots mature 1 year in French oak barrels of various toast levels, half new and half once-used. The final blend is given additional rest in both large oak ovals and barrels for another 12 months.

The romantic Via Bolgherese, with its vineyards and olive groves, is the background for winemaker Franco Ziliani’s new adventure in creating wines that always leave their mark.

Historic Bolgheri Rosso by Caccia al Piano takes its name from a poem by Giosuè Carducci, testifying to the sense of belonging to the territory of Castagneto, birthplace of the famous poet. A blend composed mainly of Merlot grapes to which are added Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot, all from the various company crus. Able to fully reveal the structure and complexity typical of the Bolgheri amphitheater, it is a wine that expresses immediate pleasantness without sacrificing excellent aging potential.

It was in 1981 that the Marquis Lodovico Antinori, cousin of Piero Antinori, founded the Ornellaia Estate, in the heart of the Bolgheri area, a few kilometers from the Mediterranean coast. Thus, with the first harvest of 1985, what would become an icon among the SuperTuscans was born: the "Ornellaia". With the inauguration of the company, the world-famous enologist, Michel Rolland, begins to deal with the technical part of the cellar. Subsequently, in the 90s the other two labels were born: "Le Volte" and "Le Serre Nuove".

Crafted from the same varieties, under the same sky, from the same philosophy: Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia is a proud second vin, which has the ability to foretell the personality of the estate’s flagship wine. Together, the two wines provide their own distinctive points of view. The pleasure of sipping Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia evolves over time, adding the charm of maturity to the vigour of youth.

“Aromatic complexity is the hallmark of this vintage, with fruits of the forest aromas (blackberries, raspberries and red cherries), accompanied by wild rose, pink pepper and liquorice notes. Nice tannins with a savoury and crunchy finish.” - Olga Fusari – Winemaker
