Plaimont Apéro’Nautes Madiran AOP

It all began in the mid-1970s when André Dubosc – a third-generation wine grower – set out to build up the reputation of the wines from their region of South-West France. He and other passionate young winegrowers fashioned local dry white wines (now a PGI: Côtes de Gascogne), revived the Saint Mont appellation and gave a new breath of life to the Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, made from late-harvested grapes. In 1979, these women and men, who put their heart, soul and know-how into producing the best the terroir could offer, decided to strengthen their foothold by uniting their wine cellars and estates. And so they set up the Plaimont union of cooperatives (“Pl” for Plaisance, “Ai” for Aignan and “Mont” for Saint Mont). Long marked by powerful and structured wines, Madiran offers a new interpretation with Apéro'Nautes 2023. This vintage breaks the codes by highlighting a fresh and fruity Tannat, obtained thanks to a short maceration and aging in vats which preserves all the delicacy of the grape variety. Famille Jouffreau Clos de Gamot Cahors AOC

Over the centuries, the Jouffreau family at Clos de Gamot, has cultivated vines, produced wine and lived to the rhythm of the moments of glory or misfortune of Cahors wine. The most serious misfortune came in 1882, with phylloxera that began to attack the Clos de Gamot vineyard: Guillaume Jouffreau had just saved the Clos de Gamot vineyard but also the entire Cahors vineyard that will be replanted largely thanks to the clones coming from the Clos de Gamot, a 15-hectare vineyard with a single grape variety, Malbec, on a magnificent clay-limestone-silica terroir, with pebbles and flint. Clos de Gamot represents today the most 'traditional' aspect of Cahors, having been one of the most innovative in the region. No barriques here; the aging, which lasts about two years, is done only in the 'Foudres' and the 'Demi-Muids', producing wines that never play on the abundance of primary aromas. APPEARANCE
Clear, light orange colour

NOSE
Intense and powerful aromas of bitter oranges, a bouquet of faded flowers and a hint of walnut.

PALATE
Straightforward in the mouth. Fresh and lively, with attractive acidities. The finish is long, intense, fresh and complex.

AGEING
5 days maceration with daily pumping-over.
Ageing on fine lees until bottling.

PAIRING
This wine drinks very well on its own, but also works well with a variety of dishes including Asian dishes, chicken curry, fish salads or a plate of aged cheeses.

APPEARANCE
The color is a clear, very pale wheat yellow.

NOSE
The nose has lemon, pear, apples, melon, peach and grapefruit notes.

PALATE
This is a balanced white blend with bright acidity, sleek and flavorful. The mid-palate offers a touch of cream, pineapple and passion fruit with a refreshing, rounded and smooth finish.

PAIRING
It works perfectly with quiches, fish and seafood dishes, shrimp soups and risottos.

Plaimont Rosé d’Enfer Saint Mont AOC

He and other passionate young winegrowers fashioned local dry white wines (now a PGI: Côtes de Gascogne), revived the Saint Mont appellation and gave a new breath of life to the Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, made from late-harvested grapes. In 1979, these women and men, who put their heart, soul and know-how into producing the best the terroir could offer, decided to strengthen their foothold by uniting their wine cellars and estates. And so they set up the Plaimont union of cooperatives (“Pl” for Plaisance, “Ai” for Aignan and “Mont” for Saint Mont). It was in the vineyard of Saint Mont, that the devil disguised as a winemaker, succumbed to temptation and stole bunches of Tannat, Pinenc and Cabernet Sauvignon. This cuvee is produced from a blend of the appellation’s three terroirs: clay-limestone, variegated clay and fawn-coloured sand. The parcels have been selected on the basis of their geographically cool situations (north or west-facing) which encourage the development of the aromatic expression of the red grapes with which rosé is made. A wine-growing area for many years given over to producing Armagnac brandy, Côtes de Gascogne enjoyed a winemaking revival in the late 1970s, when André DUBOSC, founder of the PLAIMONT union, rediscovered the “French Colombard of the Gers”.
