“La Burgondie” was the historical region of France that gave rise to the term Burgundy. The legendary little knight character that appears on the bottles truly captures the essence of La Burgondie. Courageous, confident and loyal. A forward-thinking, like-minded group of individuals who are fiercely proud of their Burgundian roots, their beautiful region and their wines. The same wines, produced using environmentally friendly farming methods, which are evocative of the hard-working co-operative-winemaker families who give their all, and have done so for generations.

In the heart of Burgundy the vineyards of Givry spread across the communes of Givry, Dracy-le-Fort and Jambles in the Côte Chalonnaise. The vines grow at altitudes between 240 and 280 metres in chalky-clay soils on slopes facing east/south-east.

The Cave of Vignerons de Buxy offers a selection of wines produced in limited quantities. Selected by the best winemaker these wines, produced and matured individually, come from the vineyards, estates and châteaux of the property, like Domaine Steinmaier in Givry.

Located on the Côte Chalonnaise, south of Burgundy, the Givry region produces primarily red wines. The parcels face from east to southeast, and range from 240 to 280 meters high. The grapes are planted on calcareous soil. The subsoil is composed mainly of limestone.

TECHNICAL DATA
Alcohol 13.5%

APPEARANCE
Fine purple color.

NOSE
The nose opens on aromas which are typical of Pinot Noir, such as blackcurrant, morello, cherry and leather.

PALATE
On the palate the finesse of the tannins provides a wonderful aromatic complexity.
Very fine density.

AGEING
Aged in oak barrels.

PAIRING
Fine charcuteries, fibrous meats or stewed poultry are the perfect accompaniment for this wine. On the more exotic side but still appropriate: kebabs, keftas and eggrolls. Or simply serve with soft crust cheeses such as Camembert, Reblochon, and Brie.
