Vignobles Lassagne gather several family properties that were bought since three generations and are grown according to tradition and innovation on unique terroir located in the Libourne area.

Château La Salargue is located on the left bank of the Dordogne in the municipality of Moulon. At that time, its famous wines were shipped in barrels by barge. Here the vines benefit from a privileged terroir, the soil is clayey and loamy on gravel, the fruit of millions of years of work by the watercourse. In the Dordogne, it is humid in the mornings and wonderfully sunny in summer. This contributes to the optimal ripeness of the vines and grapes here.

The Meynaud family owns both Château Franc Couplet and Château Laussac on the right bank of the Gironde. Eric has always tried to get the best out of his vineyards and regularly sends his wines to competitions where they have won numerous awards, not only in France but all over the world.

Château La Plaige sits on a hillside overlooking the river Dordogne on the eastern edge of the Bordeaux appellation. The combination of clay and limestone in the soil means that the owner Frédéric Naud can make a wine that is powerful and elegant at the same time. Since 2000, Frédéric Naud and his wife Lise have been managing the vineyard with passion and respect for the family's winemaking tradition, established by the Naud family for five generations.

A really solid Bordeaux Supérieur, with an immediately recognizable Bordeaux’s profile, unusual balance and great value.

TECHNICAL DATA
Alcohol 14%

APPEARANCE
Dark ruby red with purple highlights.

NOSE
On the nose it reveals flavors of blackberry, strawberry and cherry syrup and also notes of cassis, forest fruits, some vanilla and cinnamon.

PALATE
On the palate, it is a powerful wine with a nice balance between acidity and tannins. Bold and youthful, with a proper tannic structure, this tastes like a much more expensive Bordeaux.

AGEING
The wine is aged for 18 months in concrete vats prior to bottling, allowing the tannins to soften slightly and respect its fruity side.

PAIRING
The Bordeaux Supérieur of Château La Plaige generally goes quite well with beef, veal or game dishes such as recipes for beef with panang curry, vitello tonnato or duck with vanilla (reunion).
